Quartetto Goldberg is winner of the 42nd Abbiati Award of the Italian Critics “Piero Farulli – best young ensemble”, special prize “Una Vita nella Musica” of Teatro La Fenice, first prize at Filippo Nicosia Chamber Music Award 2023 and is selected at the 19th International Chamber Music Competition of Lyon (April 2024).
In the 2023/2024 season, together with the debut in Sala Verdi for Fondazione Società dei Concerti di Milano, the highlights of the group are: the artistic residencies at Vibre! Festival of Bordeaux and at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia of Madrid, a couple of tours in Saudi Arabia and Finland, as well as collaborations with Società del Quartetto of Vicenza, Società dei Concerti of Trieste and Jeunesses Musicales of Deutschland.
The ensemble is Artist in Residence of Fondazione Società dei Concerti di Milano 2022/2023, protagonist of the “Nuit du Quatuor 2022” in Paris and Quartet in Residence at Ticino Festival 2022. Recently it was hosted on radio programs La Stanza della Musica and Piazza Verdi.
Quartetto Goldberg was founded in 2021; it has been studying at the Stauffer Academy with Quartetto di Cremona and at the City Conservatory of Paris with Miguel da Silva. Recently, it has been selected as Artist in Residence 2024/25 at the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel in Bruxelles. The group is part of MERITA platform and Le Dimore del Quartetto, of which it isEnsemble of the Year 2022. The name is a tribute to J. S. Bach’s Variations, a piece that deeply binds the four members and expresses the key ideals of their music-making: refinement, simplicity and communicativeness.
